ENHANCING THE MOVEMENT RESPONSE TIME BY QUICKENING THE REACTION TIME.

MOVEMENT RESPONSE IMPORTANCE LIES IN THE FACT THAT EARLIER PREPARATION TIME ENHANCES PLAYERS’ TECHNICAL-TACTICAL STROKE EXECUTION.

70 PERCENT OF MOVEMENT IN TENNIS IS LATERAL MOVEMENT.

THEREFORE, TENNIS CONDITIONING SHOULD INCLUDE THIS TYPE MOVEMENT. WE BELIEVE THAT CONDITIONING IS ABOUT STRENGHTENING THE NEUROMUSCULAR CONNECTIONS.

LOADING/UNLOADING SEQUENCE OF TENNIS STROKES HAS ITS DIFFICULTIES WHEN PERFORMING AT OUR NON-DOMINANT (BACKHAND) SIDE.

THE EFFICIENCY OF THE BACKHAND STROKE RELIES ON THE COMPETENCY OF MOVEMENT AND THE SPATIO-TEMPORAL CONTROL OF OUR NON-DOMINANT SIDE.

TENNIS IS AN ANAEROBIC SPORT WITH SHORT BURSTS OF EXPLOSIVE MOVEMENT.

EXPLOSIVENESS OF MOVEMENT HAS ITS FOUNDATION IN THE MOBILITY AND BALANCE.

PLAYERS’ GOAL IS TO GENERATE SIMULTANEOUSLY HIGHLY ACCELERATED STROKING MOVEMENT BUT TO BE ABLE TO RECOVER QUIKLY FROM IT
